God opened the door for Emily Yount to travel to fifteen countries to research human trafficking. Hearing Emily speak about the transformed lives she witnessed through the power of the gospel and prayer, has reminded me once again that God is the one who brings transformation to broken lives. In many of the difficult situations we face with the women we walk beside and in our own lives, we realize it is ONLY God who can bring about change, which in turn forces us to depend on Him, turn to Him in prayer, rely on Him, trust in Him. However in some cases, we may not remember to consult Jesus or look to Him to act in and through us. Sometimes we do not realize that it is Him who enables us, who is truly doing the work in and through us. It is by His power and grace no matter how small or great the task. He gets the glory. Knowing this allows us remove from our shoulders the load we were never meant to bear. It also keeps us from becoming prideful. Let’s depend on Him in all circumstances, steadfast in prayer, acknowledging that it is God who is working!
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Rejoice always! Pray constantly. Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus
1 Peter 4:11 – If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
Isaiah 46:4 – I will be the same until your old age, and I will bear you up when you turn gray. I have made you, and I will carry you; I will bear and save you.
Deuteronomy 8:17-18 – You may say to yourself, ‘My power and my own ability have gained this wealth for me,’ but remember that the Lord your God gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to confirm His covenant He swore to your fathers, as it is today.
1 Corinthians 3:6-7 – I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
Psalm 127:1 – Unless the Lord builds a house, its builders labor over it in vain; unless the Lord watches over a city, the watchman stays alert in vain.
